Description

This module provides an overview of the basic concepts on entrepreneurship focusing on the nature, types, characteristics and strategy of halal entrepreneurs and businesses. It is designed to explore the various types of halal businesses and how it relates to the Malaysian 7 halal certification schemes. At the end of this module, students should be able to: -Describe the fundamental concept of halal entrepreneurship -Analyze halal business problem(s) and evaluate the best solution to the problem(s) using technology -Understand the concept of business model canvas and how to design a BMC for the proposed business idea -Identify various types of finance and funding assistance for halal businesses

Bhd. aims to helps strengthen the Halal supply chain R&D by focusing on promoting the technological innovation and commercialization of Halal informatics solutions. Holistics Lab also is one of the halal training provider certified by JAKIM.

Course Outline

Entrepreneurship and Halal Industry Idea Generation and Opportunity Recognition

This lesson explores the concept of entrepreneurship, entrepreneurs, technology and its relevance to halal industry. Students will also identify the characteristics of successful entrepreneurs and relates to the concept of Muslim entrepreneurs. Students will be expose to the Malaysia halal certification schemes to identify and understand the opportunities available to Halal entrepreneurs.

Idea Generation and Opportunity Recognition

Lesson 2 explore the concept of idea generation and opportunity recognition. Students will learn how to evaluate opportunities and analyze problems. Several techniques to generate ideas will be explore. Finally, students will involve in problem analysis and formulation activity using Ishikawa diagram

Business Model

Lesson 3 expose the students on the concept of business model and how to design and develop the business model using business model canvas.
